Q: What makes paddling with SFDBC different from any other activities you do (say hiking or running)?
It’s the perfect minimalist watersport! You just show up, workout, and afterwards socialize with awesome people! Q: What would you say to a friend when they look at you as if you were crazy because you were going paddling on a rainy Monday night? How would you explain why you choose to do that? A profound sense of enjoyment is found in a cup of hot chocolate after paddling in the rain. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking inspiration. |
"I love dragon boating! But even more, I love the people I have met and the friends I have made through the Seattle Flying Dragons. It's the main reason why I keep coming out to the lake, even on a cold, rainy winter's day. A sport is a sport, an activity if you will. Ultimately it is the people, the camaraderie and the friendships that turn it into a 'team sport.' "
"Can't wait to see what summer has to offer! Definitely looking forward to some good competition and breaking some club records! Woot! And did I mention the awesome BBQ's?!" "The SFDBC is totally counter to the Seattle Freeze mentality. I came to try out the sport last summer. I was greeted with open arms and some very patient coaches! Now I'm hooked to paddling, and I can feel comfortable calling Seattle my second home knowing that the Seattle Flying Dragons are like my second family." |
